Welcome to my kitchen!

Ok, so Gilbert has totally taken over my kitchen. As proof in the pictures, He has climbed to the kitchen's highest point and claimed the entire land as his!

We aren't too excited about him getting on top of the new cabinets...for fear that they may get scratched. but...we never catch him in the act of getting up there. and we don't want to scare him down too much... for fear that he will freak out and scratch the cabinets on the way down. So... I guess we will just have to let him stake his claim for a little longer!

Craziac!!

aka... A Crazy Maniac!! That is what I call Stachie! His big boy surgery didn't slow him down any!! He was so full of energy last night. I do think that his pain meds probably wore off sometime in the middle of the night though, b/c he was extra clingy last night.

On another note: We finally gave Tipsy a birthday! We knew that it was sometime around the end of August, beginning of September...but we never really picked a date for her (b-days are big deals in our house!). So... this weekend, I decided that her birthday would be August 29th. Yes, that is the day that Wheezie died, but also the day that Tipsy started showing life again. A re-birth of sorts. I just figured it would be a nice way to pay tribute to Wheezie and the life she led and to remember the small miracles that God sends our ways.... Like showing us that Tipsy still had life in her after I had all but given up on her (I decided that I wanted to get rid of her the night that Wheezie died...b/c she had just seemed so miserable with us the last few months).

Stachio: Time for his "big boy" appointment!

Well, poor Tipsy is not going to be able to have her favorite visitor Mustachio in her "apartment" for a couple of days. Last night, he tried to have his way with her!! He is only 4 months old!! Crazy little maniac cat! (he is a joy to have...but quite the little energy filled maniac!) Even though Tipsy is fixed, I don't want my little Tippers to feel violated in her little apartment! So, I called this morning and Stachio goes in for his big boy snip on Monday! I think my Mike was a little horrified to see what was happening in the cage! He was the first one to notice what was going on!

For Wheezie

I found this poem and thought it was very fitting for what Mike and I are both feeling right now. I dedicate this to my baby Wheezie, who is now up in heaven.

I ONLY WANTED YOU

They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true.

I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

Wheezie Lobe 4/15/02 - 8/29/07

Hi all...

Just wanted to let you know that Wheezie passed away a few hours after her second surgery. I can't write much now, as it still hurts to much. But she was a wonderful cat and will be missed greatly.
