Fall is Fun...

Here are some pictures that I took yesterday... I propped open the door to their kitty veranda, they were so excited --you would of thought I opened a can of tuna. Even the ones that already know how to use the door got excited and were pushing and shoving to take their turn "outside". While everyone else was outside, Emmy decided to watch the leaves blowing around on the deck. Then there is Hank... who had to try and get to the kitty veranda the hard way... by climbing up the back of the couch. Paisley gave me kisses for opening the door... and lastly, here is a picture of our little foster kitty Evelyn. She was trapped at a feral colony and brought to Operation Catnip's October spay/neuter clinic. She was way to tiny to go be spayed, so I am "safe-housing" her till she is big enough to be spayed. She is by no means feral... she is a little purr machine. She hasn't been gaining much weight, so I had her tested yesterday for FeLV... she tested negative!! That is very good news, now I just need to figure out how to fatten her up some. I don't think she is going to be ready (2+ lbs) to go through November's spay/neuter clinic... it is only 2 weeks away.

2 new pieces

Here they are... "Happy" (11x14 stretched canvas, $75) ... I named this one "Happy" b/c that is what it makes me when I look at it...who wouldn't want to lay in a field of yellow flowers with kitties, mice, and a blue sky over head??

and... "Feral FeWines: Where's Your Glass??" (8x10 canvas panel, $35).

An Invisible Steam-Roller came through our living room!

Hank... Laying in his favorite position...flat as a pancake! Notice his pretty new blue collar... it matches his giant of a best friend, Stachio's collar! They do collar bumps now (seriously... they do), it's like their secret hand shake. I need to get a good picture of
the two of them together... since Stachie is about 3 times the size of my petite little Hank! oh... and notice the evil glare I am getting in the last picture... he didn't enjoy being woken up by the camera!!

3 more finished pieces ...

"Feral Fewines: A Tasting" 11x14 canvas panel ($60)

"ALL the creatures were stirring, even a mouse" 8x10 canvas panel ($35)

"Wet Paint + Cat = " 8x10 canvas panel ($35)

The Sewer Cometh...

Here are some pictures that I took yesterday of the happenings in our backyard. I took pictures over the weekend b/c I felt weird taking pictures while there were so many men down there working. All I know is that they are digging some deep trenches for the sewer line... some of the men were standing in the ditch and you could only see the tops of their shoulders and heads! If it hadn't been so rainy this weekend, I would have loved to go down there and look around...

some more paintings...

Yup... more paintings. They are all 8x10 canvas panels. The first one (yet to be named), I haven't decided if I am done with it or not-- a part of me like the simplicity of it as is... and another part of me wants to paint in a paintbrush and some spilt white paint. The second one "Feral Field Day"... I finally got a picture of the finished painting and the third is going to be a christmas scene (someone at my lunch table keeps whispering in my ear to do a christmas one!?!?!) it will have a santa kitty coming down the chimney, a kitten in the stocking... and another kitty sleeping on the mantel.

newest paintings...and "my studio"

Hello All, just sharing the piece I finished last night (still needs to be sealed) and the other that I started... I have also included a picture of "my studio"... some at the Operation Catnip clinic asked where my studio was... well, it's my love-seat with my art table pulled up to it. My end table has been converted into my paint holding stand. Don't look at all the mess... I tend to surround my self with plenty of drinks and snacks so I don't have to get up very much... and, the spray bottle isn't for the art. It is to spray Tater Tot when she gets mean with Winky the One-Eyed Wonder!! Surprisingly, Mike hasn't complained yet about my new art space... I guess it is fine as long as it doesn't impede his view of the tv from his lazy boy!!!

"Feral FeWines: Red Purrlot" 8x10 panel

unfinished... with lots of possible names!

and.... my studio!!

newest painting...

"Picking Flowers For You" 8x10 canvas panel

Today is going to be a good day...

Even though it is cold and raining (the worst of worst weather for me). Today is going to be a good day. Any day that you get to wake up your mom (who is sick from her latest chemo) to let her know that you finally found the long lost friend she has been looking for, and to hear her cries of joy and happiness... that is a good day. My heart is overflowing with happiness!

Expanding the art beyond the canvas...

Here are a few more things I have started working on. The tote is--well...not complete, but one of 4 that I will do. I have to do these in stages, as it takes the paint longer to dry on the tote. I am using a fabric medium mixed in with the acrylic paint... (Lets just hope I don't have to make cookies anytime soon, b/c my cookie sheets are what I am using as a flat surface in the bags!!)

The other two pictures are of a tray that I finished up the other day. All I need to do is seal it. ...

Hank and Frederick....yup, they are definitely related

Hank has always perched himself in the same spot on the counter (on
the left side of the butcher block in the pics). ... now Frederick
has claimed the right side! and... if Hank isn't around, he'll sneak
to the left side!
