wonderful phrase to ponder...

While I was driving into work this morning--and stuck at yet another red light--I started flipping through a catalog that came in the mail yesterday. I saw a wooden sign in the catalog with a picture of a sheep on it...the phrase on it caught my attention and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since... I think it is truly a wonderful phrase.

"When you can't sleep - Don't count sheep.... Talk to the SHEPHERD!"

The Elmo Project!

I have completed the Elmo project... a hat, shaw and bag for Rachel.
She (yup, Rachel herself) actually requested an Elmo hat for this
winter. ... I think it might have been before she got sick again.
Anyway...I decided that I could do a little more than just an elmo
hat! The picture makes his eyes look funky... but they actually look
like they are looking in the same direction. I got them washed up
last night and am hoping to get them in the mail tomorrow.

Funny Story... (well...it is funy to me)

Ok... so ya'll may not think this is too funny... But Mike and I sure got a kick out of it. Last friday when we were waiting to pick up the kids from the hospital (kids being the kittens)... we went to Arby's to get a bite to eat. Well... what do you know... They were out of roast beef!!!! An Arby's running out of roast beef?? seriously?? turns out... since this Arby's is in Mike's work building, they are not open over the weekend. So, when they ran out at lunch time...they decided it wasn't worth it to get out more since they would end up wasting what didn't sell. Ok... so that makes a little bit of sense... but still... an Arby's with no roast beef! That is the only reason why I go there.

Everyone made it through with flying colors!

Just got the call from the clinic... all the kitties had successful surgeries. They don't do the kittens till the afternoon. The do the dogs in the morning... I guess to keep them from barking all day! anyway... we get to pick them up at 5. I am sure that they will all be pretty groggy. perhaps I can get some good video footage of drunk kittens!

A nervous wreck....

Ok... I am a nervous wreck today. Mike and I dropped the kittens off at Prevent a Litter this morning for their boy and girl operations! I am always neurotic when I have to leave just one at the vet for a short period of time... today we dropped off 5 kittens (Tater Tot, Paisley, Cowboy and Cowgirl... and Molly too). Molly enjoyed coming to our house last night for a "sleep over"... she probably wont be too excited after today! But boy did she and the rest of the gang romp all over the house last night. the living room was definitely not in the same order as I left it last night!!

I will post on their progress this weekend or monday.

Crocheting for a cause...

I just wanted to show you all my new little "company" name for all the catnip toys I have been making. I have donated them to a rescue group in the past, but was currently making them for the volunteers at Operation Catnip. Well... just as I had a good number (over 30) I got a call that the rescue group was about out... of toys and money. So they wanted to know if I could make another batch for them to sell at an upcoming fundraising event.... Operation Catnip isn't until the 21st of this month... so I have plenty of time to make some more for them. Anyway... Cat's Cradle is going to sell them for $5 each. Not to shabby for some scrap yarn and about 30 - 45 minutes of my time.

ok... so here is what I came up with for a company name/logo!

Fishing with Zach and Joey at the lake

Mike and I spent labor day with my brother Chuck and his wife, Christen. We got to see all the work they have done to Uncle Clifford's house. It really is amazing what a little paining and some rearranging can do! I never knew his living room was that big! and moving the frig made a huge difference in the kitchen. They made us a great meal! but...we couldn't stay too late b/c Chuck goes to bed at like 4 and Christen had to study (she is in her second year of law school!).

We got back to the lake just in time to do a little fishing with Zach and Joey! My brother Mike and his family came out for the day.

I let Zach fish with "the pink lady" (my new fishing pole)... it wasn't in the water long before he caught a fish!

When Joey got back from the boat ride that he was on... he took over Mike's fishing pole.

With Mike's help, Joey caught a fish too!

Zach's 5th Birthday Party!

Dad and Honey in matching outfits!

My Dad and Honey dog were wearing matching outfits for Zach's 5th B-day Party!!

Cowboy likes to stop and smell the flowers!

It looks like I have passed my love of flowers and gardening on to
Cowboy. ... I didn't have the heart to tell him that the flowers we
fake!!
