catnip art... the progression continues!

I know that you have seen the first picture already... but I think it is cool to scroll through the progression of the art piece. It is done... with the exception of sealing it. I have to make myself stop, or else I get so nit-picky about little details that I usually end up making some mistake and ruining all my hard work. The final picture is the new piece I started last night. While the first painting was all me (my inspiration)...I have to admit that this second piece was inspired by a piece of art I saw online of kitties in a pedestal sink. I was drawn to that picture b/c my Milo is constantly sleeping in our pedestal sink. I've made my own rendering of that painting, adding the bathtub (... as that is my dream bathtub!) and my own little touches of whimsy will be there too!

The mini-me's....re-united!!

The Mini-me's...Dr. Heidi, Jane, and Shannon!!! Re-united at last! Mini-Jane is done traveling across the US, and Dr. Heidi and Shannon are back from their time in Azerbaijan (in the Peace Corp!!). Unfortunately for the real Dr. Heidi, Jane and Shannon... we didn't get a picture of the three of us together (yet).

Jane's Welcome Home Party!

Here are some pictures from Jane's "welcome home" party (she has been overseas volunteering for the peace corp for the last 27 months). Unfortunately for us (good for Jane) there were so many people there that I only got one real picture of Jane! Allison brought her 4-year-old daughter, Cameron... she likes having her picture taken (and then immediately looking at it on the camera!).

A good "me" day!

So yesterday... I went to Kohl's to spend my $10 in Kohl's cash. I love Kohl's cash... I have started a new tradition of getting a necklace and matching earrings (from the clearance rack) with my $10. Well... I found an awesome necklace and earrings yesterday. only one catch... I don't have much to match it. So, I went off to the clothing clearance racks... no shirts to match the jewelry, but as usual...there were lots of jeans. I have a thing for jeans. To my surprise, they had Levi's on clearance. That never happens! I love levi's ... but have never bought myself a pair. All the levi's I own, or have ever owned... are hand-me-downs! I typically don't like to spend more than $15 on a pair of jeans (a clue as to why I haven't bought myself levi's) ... but levi's on clearance!!... I splurged a little and spent $16 for these!! Then, I found the perfect sweater-on sale- in the Jr's department. a whole new outfit!! awesome!!! I was doing laundry anyway last night...so I threw my new clothes in so I could wear them today. Good choice... b/c when I looked in the mirror this morning, I couldn't help but say "Damn, I look good!" My waist looked tiny and my butt looks slammin' in these jeans! I haven't had one of these days in while...probably not since before my surgeries. So... I decided to document the occasion with pictures. Mike was asleep, so I had to take the pictures my self...

Tucker Jr.

This is Tucker Jr... a special order Dachshund, for a sorority sister from college. For being mostly recognized as a "cat person" ... I think I did a pretty darn good job with him! He is almost done... I have a few little things I want to do (as many of you know, I am a perfectionist...so I am always tweaking things slightly to make it just that much better). Anyway... I hope to have him shipped off tomorrow so he can be hanging out with the real Tucker asap!!
