Lily

No...we didn't get a puppy. But, Hollie and Cleve did. This is Lily,
a red merle australian shepard with the brightest blue eyes. They are
such a light blue, that they are almost creepy. She is a very sweet
puppy though (when she isn't peeing and pooping on their carpets!

note to self... no puppies.

Our Red Dogwood

Our red dogwood tree has finally bloomed! It has taken a couple of
years... but it finally has blooms.

We re-arranged our living room....

We re-arranged our living room this weekend! The loveseat is now
where the tv used to be. The tv is now in where Tipsy used to be. Tipsy is now in the corner that used to be between the loveseat and the couch (a subwoofer and end table used to reside there). Mike had
to drill some holes in the floor and re-run the tv lines. But, we
think it fits soooo much better in the new space. the whole room
feels much bigger and more light will be able to get in, since the
loveseat is no longer in front of the windows! oh yeah... the cat
tree doesn't quite fit in the room anymore. It is in the foyer right
now... as you can tell by Lydia's picture...they enjoy it no matter where it is! Oh yeah...The whole ordeal completely pissed Tipsy off. So... we are back to square one with her ....again. It makes me wonder if she will ever be able to transition to life out of her cage. She is likes having her nice confined space and... she doesn't like it messed with. She hissed, growled, swatted and bit at me when I tried to pet her inside her condo after we got everything re-arranged and things had settled down some. Hopefully by this afternoon she will have forgotten yesterday even happened!

Thoughts and Reflections...

Yeah right... Like I can really have that serious of a post! I am just soooooo happy that it is Friday. The sun has actually come out, so I can't wait for the workday to be over so I can get outside to soak up the sun. The weather has been so gloomy lately that I start to feel all gloomy. But... a sunny spring day can turn all that around. I want to go look for some flowers and plants, something I enjoy greatly! I also need to find a little something else to get for our neighbor, Hollie, for her birthday today. I got her a big container of tulips (almost ready to open). They are a deep purple, very pretty. She was complaining the other day how none of her tulips came back this year (darn squirrels). Anyway... I want to get a little something else to go with the tulips. Figure I can stop at Ben Franklin Crafts and find something...

Tomorrow is supposed to be kind of rainy, which is a bummer. There is an event at a sod farm here in town called the "Spring Green Lawn Clinic". It is a free event and they will have tips on going green and how to get your yard in tip top shape. We want to take the neighbors little boy, Evan. He loves absolutely anything that is related to yard care...lawn mowers, weed whackers, chain saws. They are going to have a bunch of big tractors and other equipment on display for the kids...so he would absolutely love it. He is at the age that I just absolutely adore... he will be two in July. He is really starting to get quite a personality and is starting to develop his own interests and stuff. Plus... he loves Mike and I and is just starting to say our names. Although... we are still commonly called mama or dada (which we take as a compliment). He doesn't call all adults that... but when it is just the four of us adults around... it is easier for him to use words he can say well to get attention. We are also baby sitting him and Marlie on Saturday night (Jill has a sleepover to go to). So, I will try to take some pictures.... They just got a new puppy too, so most of the pictures will probably be of the puppy. I have decided that when it comes to my love for animals... I take after my grandma Niehaus! My mom used to complain about how my grandma would call and ask about the dog before asking about the kids (brother Mike and I). That is soooo totally something that I would do!! I called Hollie the other day to see how the new puppy was doing and how their other dog was coping with her. I don't think we talked about the kids at all!

alright... I better get back to work. I more hour to go!!! woo hoo!!

Newest Pictures of our Landscaping

Here are some pictures of the yard that I took yesterday. We still have a few loose ends to tie up with the project....like planting a few more things in the bed to the left of the porch. I want to plant some lariope in the curve next to the walkway. We also need to clean out some of the things from the bed behind the walkway. We also need to pressure wash the driveway. It has a nice layer of dried mud on it from having 10 tons of dirt dropped in the driveway.











I am really happy with how this little raised bed turned out. Previously, this flower bed was the catch-all for everything that blew down the driveway. I missed seeing my crocus' bloom this year b/c they were hidden under leaves! I want to put some more plants in there...probably some more hostas.
